Spooling with Braid

I am thinking about respooling my SG17LCW's with 10lb power pro for deep diver trolling. Anyone know the capacity for these reels even if you have done one with 10/2 braid. I am thinking I'm gonna need like 1200 - 1500 yards to do all 4.

Anyone wanna talk me out of it?

Jay,

Run mono backer first to take up most of the spool then put on the braid. Plus I would go with a heavier line than 10/2.

Yeah the mono backer seems to be the consensus....

I am only using them for my walleye gear. The 10lb is to get everything out of the deep diving sticks that I can.

On the 17LCW's now I run 12lb big game and a 10lb floro lead, after going over the charts and what I could do with 10lb braid and some of the deep diving sticks I run I thought I would respool but I used a calculator from another forum and came up with like 1200 yards per reel!!!

Thats like $500 of power pro.

150 yards is plenty for what I do... as far as heavier, I only use them for walleye and browns in early spring off the boards and I have never had any issues with the 12/10 before. I think my 10lb floro will give before the braid anyway.
