hey guys my unit is acting a little wacky when i try and run it deep ,past 60 70fow lose's speed and temp jumps all over the place and it kinda trys to work like speed will start to come up but then back down it goes , changed battery, re-terminated it clean right to the probe, checked wiring anyone else have this problem thought i heard of the same thing on here once before, thx for any help. Generally that sounds like a grounding problem. Had it with my raider, and I know guys who described the same thing with the moor as you and found a bad ground or interference with another unit (AP) usually.

that could be the problem just added auto polit ill go check on it know and report back thanks for the reply pete. Capt john

John,

If/when that happens again, take a wet cloth and drape it over the antenna. Your speed and temp should come back for awhile. It's a band aid till you fix the cause.

I used to think something was wrong with my unit as it does that this time every year. After I had it checked out, I realized that local currents go all over the place and:

This time of year, it issue goes away when I clear the seaweed/fleas off the cable & head north.

Sounds right Tom. Shawn's was doing the exact same thing today, when we made a turn it would go crazy then come back. We even changed out the probe and it did the same thing.

John,

had a similar problem and after re-terminating the cable I took the tail of UN coated wire and fed it through the ring of the probe too "double" the contact points up the cable. Have not had any issues other than current fluctuations.
