Last week I lost my Cannon probe so I ordered a new Depth Raider. I want the probe to be removable so my question is can I strip the end of the coated cable off and terminate it to a Blacks release with a simple wireline knot or am I better off using the Klincher to terminal ring with bolt setup?

I think you are asking if you can connect the blacks below the klincher. Yes, you can do that. You will have a little more uninsulated wire that way but it shouldn't affect your signal very much. I have done that with the walker's adjustable "in-line" release and didn't notice much difference in how deep I could go before I lost the signal. You can also slip some heat shrink tubing over the exposed wire on the clip. Just make sure you leave the bottom of the clip exposed for electrical contact to the probe. I've heard guys talk about using liquid electric tape too for covering up exposed wire.
