I used my 600 feet 36 pound test stranded copper line for the first time and when I reeled it back in there was a small clump of wire because of a broken strand.I want to cut out this bad section and retie the wire.Which is the right way to reconnect the wire??

Thank you for your help and advise,Cornelis.

Cut the section out and reconnect using a haywire twist. Dress the joint with a small piece of shrink tube if desired. The shrink tube is not necessary and, if you use it, don't forget to slide it on before you do the twist.
