I'm prepping for the annual Olcott pilgrimage August 5-8. I was thinking about my flasher/fly connection and the proper action for the fly.

Would a single snap from fly leader to flasher be the best way to put action on the trailing fly? Would the the fly "whip" more while the swivel on the front end of the flasher handle any line twist?

Or is the snap swivel connection the way to go?

Flasher/fly game is pretty new to me so pardon the potentially stupid question.

I've only used the overhand fo about 10 years and havent had one fail yet but ill keep a close eye on them from now on  but out of fairness i only hit L O about 100 days a year ,so maybe if you fish a lot you get failures at the knot....

I've run the overhand knot for 10yrs and have had very few problems. Once in a while if the flasher gets spun around it will break only because it gets spun up.
