Width probably is the right word...I'll start there, but...

I've been trained with wire/braid a good rule of thumb is that a dipsy at a 2.5 setting 3 feet of wire/braid is equal to 1 foot of depth. So 300' of wire/braid is about 100' of depth. My experience tells me this is fairly accurate at a down speeds of 2.2 - 2.5mph.

Does anyone know how far port and/or starboard from the boat our baits might be at this setting? Specifically how far from the sides of the boat the bait actually is, not from the center?
