rod & reel advice needed

First time trolling for salmon on LO. Are the rods we use for walleye and steelhead on Lake Erie okay for salmon on LO? Other than our two downrigger rods (20lb test) we troll with 6'6" rods and 17 - 20 lb test. Understand the need for a good drag.

yup ok just a drag vs line capacity thing 90% of salmon wont give ya much more than 200 ta 300 ft run unles you forget to tighten the drag
