Canandaigua 8-22

Finally got out to Canandaigua for the first time since June 7. Got out with my grandpa who lives on the lake but never seems to find time to go fishing. Kind of a bummer since he has a nice 22' sportcraft with 4 mag 10's on it. Anyways we headed out around 7 and fished till 11. We fished the north end and ended up 7 for 7. We fished mostly from deep run to pump house to german brothers, just keep making circles. No dipsies today, just riggers, all fish on SD/fly. Could not get a hit on sticks or spoons. good schools of bait in the middle of the lake from 20-40 down but just could not get anything going. All fish came from 70- 80 foot down, including a 7lb rainbow that had to be netted twice. when we were netting him he actually jumped out of the net as we raised him out of the water, never had that happen before! All lakers were great fighters and measured from 22-27 inches.

Good Report Hope to see you out there after the LOC. Canandaigua is always fun in September and Oct as you know!!! You should come up and play with the kings some weekend!

if that's an invite you just let know. I just don't have any rods set up for the big lake to go myself. We'll for sure see you in the fall out there. They were set up very similar to late Sept to Oct fishing. Fleas were almost non existent too!
