From afar, it seems most of the folks who fish Seneca, Cayuga, etc. and post here are after trout. Well and good, and the best of luck to you. But I'm wondering--having never been on either of these two lakes--whether there are many northern pike caught on these two lakes, or the other Fingers? Do the trout fishers pick any up when they're trolling? Do people target them through the summer? Is there an autumn pike bite?

Thanks.

There are pike in both lakes. Conesus is a GREAT pike fishery. Conesus also is stocked with Tiger musky every year.

Pike fishing was GREAT two years ago on Seneca , I even went after them some. Then there was a huge die-off there still around but not in the #'s they were..............the pluss side is the landlock fishing got better .........fewer lost after stocking to BIG pike ???

Cayuga was the same. I used to fish the southend with rattlentraps and hammered them 4 to 5 years ago no matter what I did. The last couple of years on cayuga I have not caught any. The north end of Cayuga is loaded with pickeral. You can't keep them from biting ;)

They have quit the Tiger Musky stocking.

They are trying to get a Walleye stocking program going there with some private volunteers.
