first time on finger lakes

Looking to fish for salmon and/or trout. What is the best time of year and which lake?

If limited to late June/early July, which lake?

Cayuga is my first pick! Its loaded with bait!

Cayuga would be my choice also. This time of year is great. Mid summer is probably worst due to fleas.

We just fished Lake Ontario for salmon - same baits on Cayuga? J-plugs, flashers with trolling flies, spoons?

flashers & flies , spoons, J-plugs are to big I think . Alot of the bait is small this time of year.
