We spent last weekend fishing Lake Ontario, Mexico Bay area, for salmon. The winds over labor day weekend had erased the thermocline and seemed to keep the fish from feeding.

Because we are traveling up from southern Maryland, we are thinking that next year in mid-September it might be best to fish Oneida for walleye a couple days and then, depnding on the weather reports, head north to Lake Ontario or west to Cayuga.

Any recommendations on where to fish for walleye on Oneida? Is mid-Sept a good time to fish for walleye on Oneida or would the time be better spent chasing salmon on Cayuga?

Thanks in advance,

Dane
