The boat comes out tomorrow, so I gave it one more go today.

We fished the North West side for 3 hours. Ended up with 4 Rainbows and 1 big Smallmouth.

They seemed to be in the 50 to 70 fow range.

Wind was really whippin, and wave were rocking. Tough to keep a good speed, but we did good.

Again, the Kokanee Killer was the star of the spread.

Here's the purple/ blue one, but the silver works good too.

A purple Stinger took a fish on the slider.

Yup, I think 2-1/2. I have been running it 20 pulls back on the rigger.

Giving up my secret, but they have been inhaling it!

Doozer, nice job today with such tough conditions. I also fished the northwest side caught 10lb laker, 2lb laker, and a tiny smallmouth bass on white/green dot flasher with hypnotist fly 225 out on a walker deeper diver. I fished mostly in 120 to 150 fow. I did mark fish in close but I figured they were smallmouths, my mistake. I hit nothing on spoons and with all the waves pitching us everywhere I had the biggest mess with the copper, leadcore, and dipsies when the boat pitched sideways. ;(;(;( I marked a lot of fish. This is the most fish I’ve marked on this lake in a long time. I think it’s going to be a good fall for fishing.

Good news! The marina is letting me keep the boat there as long as I want. I'm sure it's because they sell Key Wests and It's good advertisement there along the pier, but good for me!

So, gotta pick up some more killers, and I'll see you boys out there.

Doozer, what size Kokanee Killer? I looked at them online and they list them sizes 1 and 2 w/ no reference to actual measurements?

Doozer, I looked online at Cabelas and I couldn't find the Kokanee Killer signature series. Where on the site did you find them? I would like to try them on Canandaigua Lake this fall before the snow falls. Thanks for the information and your time.

It's strange that just the other day, you could access those lures online but they are not accessible now.

Just thought I'd share this observation of mine; I've found that rather than putting all my eggs in one basket it's sometimes a good idea to run a bow spread that includes a mix of natural and aggressive baits b/c sometimes these fish are in a neutral mood. I like to try to make sure that I'm offering both at the same depths and I try to keep them separate form each other (i.e keep naturals on one side of the boat and aggressive action & colors on the other). Obviously if one or the other is taking all the fish I change out the spread.

Also don't be afraid to run small attractors in front of the Koke/Coho type spoons, squids and spinners, but leave the natural spoons & stix 'clean'. -Andy

Guys I placed an order with Cabelas the other day and had a lot of trouble with it, after talking with a "Product specialist" they told me that they have a new website and are in the process of converting from old to new...so it wouldn't hurt to call them they may be able to find them on their end...Cabelas 800-237-4444.

I called Cabelas and talked with their product specialist. It took me 20 minutes to explain to them on what page of their catalog I was looking at( the product number did not work in their computers). I explained to them that the product was on sale, but they couldn't find it on sale in their computers. It's not a big deal I thought I'd give them a try. Cabelas used to have a great web site. This new site is horrible!!. Thanks for all your help and I'll see you on the water.

I just got my package, exactly what I ordered, the lady that I talked to the other day said this conversion has been a nightmare we searched for the same product at the same time my computer her on the phone and her computer mine came up sold out and hers brought up the product that I wanted to order. Hopefully they will get things straightened out I've had nothing but good luck with Cabelas.
