Hemlock Lake help

I would like to try jigging for lakers this fall at the north end. Havn't been there in 25 years. How's the launch ramp? Have a 15 footer with a 40hp so will have to use only the electric but have two spare batteries. Was wondering how far south you have to go to get into deep enough water to try for lakers?
