I have probably a dumb question, but here goes. I picked up some new spoons with single point hooks. Is the action of the spoon changed if I put on treble hooks? Thank you.

If they're thin spoons then definitely yes. Thicker spoons aren't affected as much. You can play around trying to find equal weight hooks but the treble offers more resistance in the water due to it's greater surface area.

Trebles will allow you to troll a little faster before the lure "spins-out." Conversely, Singles allow you to troll slower before the lure action dies. (with no tuning) However, if your good at tuning the lure, most of the action can be put back into the lure.

I find that trebles give a more eratic action & single give a more symetrical swimng action. Hook weight is critical if you are changing. Jury is still out on hookups for me.
