4-5" of hard ice, 12/26/10

Haven't gone out yet, but had folks tell me of good walleyes being caught on the east end.

Thought I'd pass that along.

After the recent warm temps, folks were still fishing on Oneida.

It was a village out there on Friday morning, but the keeper walleyes went not cooperating.

What ice there was, melted to the point, that someone went in the water, off the east end of the North Shore yesterday, as we were told.

Be mighty careful if attempting to go, and go with another person.

Hope the upcoming colder temps get things back on track, as things seem good.

I just talked to someone who had food lick with the eyes on Friday at north shore over 30' of water suspended about 20' down. He said that stopped biting by 8:30 that morning. I was thinking about heading out we'd morning if it stays cold. He did say to watch out for the crack.

Oneida is rough going. Sleds and wheelers are getting stuck all over. Lots of snow and slush. Guys aren't moving around much. I've heard fishing is decent though, just tough getting there or finding fish.
