LOTSA Super Samon Weekend Feb 26-27

LOTSA (Lake Ontario Trout & Salmon Association) will be sponsoring their 4th annual Super Salmon Weekend on February 26th and 27th.

On Saturday the 26th we will continue our run of bringing experts in to put on a advanced clinic on Trout & Salmon fishing. The previous two years have featured experts from Lake Michigan. This year our experts are two of the best on Lake Ontario, Captains Vince Pierleoni and Bob Cinelli. Vince and Bob have been working on their material since last June and will be sharing the detailed things that they use every day to be so successful. This 6 hour clinic is limited to the first 100 anglers that register and has quickly sold out the past two years.

On Sunday the 27th we be holding our Expo featuring many Charter Captains, Tackle Manufacturers and Fishing Related Businesses selling both new and used equipment. This is the largest Great Lakes Fishing oriented show open to the public on Lake Ontario. The ability to see the latest tackle, electronics, etc. along with “Show Special†pricing on both new and used equipment have drawn good crowds the past 3 years. Admission to the show is $5 for adults (kids under 16 are free) which is fully donated to Pen Rearing. We have raised $5,500 the past 3 years and hope to add at least another $2,500 to that total with this show. Hourly drawings for Door Prizes will be made throughout the day. Manufacturers who have agreed to provide prizes so far include Dreamweaver, Sigg’s Rigs, A-TOM-MIK, NK, Big Weenie, Chamberlain Downrigger Releases and Mustad Hooks.

This year instead of Seminars throughout the day on Sunday, we are going to use these slots to help recruit new Fishermen. In the morning, a free Clinic will be presented, focused on helping beginners to our Lake Fishery with some of the basic information and gear needed to get them started (as well as inform them of the goodies they need to look for in the main room. The afternoon free clinic is focused on getting Kids and their parents started fishing. The kids clinic will be by signup only (limited to the first 40) as we plan to give out rods/reels and tackle to the participants.
