Coated Downrigger cable

If I bought a speed/temp unit that uses coated cable . Under normally use how many seasons could I expect to get out of the cable?

(I don't stack my riggers)

I believe I have 5 seasons on my current coated cable, possibly six (don't remember anymore if I got my Depth Raider in 2004 or 2005).

I'll probably replace it this year, just because it's lost some length over the years from re-terminating the end.

it depends on who is using the rigger sometimes.

I got 2 years out of mine but it was only 150 ft. Replaced with 250 ft and it lasts longer.

You can get the Walker braided steel cable from St. Peter's Outfitters in Oswego. It won't lose signal @ deeper depths, has much less blow back and should last longer too but it is more expensive!
