Hey guys, I think i have decided to go with the bigfoot 9.9 for my kicker on my 22' penn yan. Should i go with the 20 or 25in shaft. I was thinking about getting a mounting bracket that raises when not in use. Any info would be appreciated. Also still looking for advise for attaching to rudder on the tunnel drive. Thanks again, Joe

Go with the longer shaft. If your in waves a short shaft can come out of the water or if you set it down to far you'll have the opposite problem where waves will bury the back of your kicker potentially stalling it. Your mounting position is critical. You'll want below the back of the boat to avoid cavitation but at the same time you want not adding drag when in the up position.

Whatever length of shaft you intend to use, make sure that the remote cables coming from the engine run freely onto the boat without weird turns and bends.Don't ask me how I know.
