I have to replace the wire on my cannon downrigger which is not electric. I removed all the wire which was on the spool. This includes removing two screws on the spool becasue the end of the wire goes through the inside of the spool. At the very end, the wire came out a small hole at the bottom of the spool and had a cinch on it to keep it from going through the small hole. My question is where do I find another small cinch to go on the downrigger wire or is it even needed.

Mine had a loop in it with the cinch. It's the same cinch that is used on the other end. i.e where you terminal swivel goes. Everywhere that carries downrigger stuff should carry them. Some hardware stores carry a real small copper tubing in 12" lengths, like 1/16" diameter for under $1. That's what I use. (bought it 5 yrs ago & forget where) If you want, you could just use a loop with an overhand knot.
