hi, i recently purchased a berts double wheel 6' planer board mast. the mast is two piece so im assuming i can have it either 3' or 6'. what is the ideal height for this mast? the higher the better? i have a front deck on my boat so the top of the mast will be approximately 8-9' of the water with the 6' mast. any other things i need to consider to get this rig set up? thanks alot, mark

Yup.

The higher the better.

Mines mounted right up on the bow.

Only other thing I can think of is pay attention to your rod placement relative to your tow lines.

More than one rod and reel have been pulled out of the holders by the tow lines on a turn.

thanks guys. ill definitely take a look at rod placement, didnt think of that one. the mast will be in a track so i can put it up and down as needed so low bridges will not be a problem. best, mark
