Cannon Mag 10A Spool Question

Hi guys. I've doing some wiring on my old Mag 10A and I was going to replace the warped spool at the same time. I've got the replacement spool in hand. What a pain in the @ss project.

I had the shaft assembly taken apart, i.e. removed motor & worm gear, removed the top clutch plate and removed knob tensioner and washers BUT the last clutch plate looked solid or stuck. Is there any trick I'm missing on this?

How do I get the damn spool off the shaft?

There's an alen head set screw in the base (bottom of the v in the spool). Loosen it & slide the shaft out.
