Corps of Engineers forecast for this year is water levels for Lake Ontario will be up a few inches from last year but still one to eight inches below its historical averages.

That can be good and bad. Along the eastern shore last year, we dealt with waves coming in closer to our breakwall during the larger storms. The Labor Day storm was absolutely incredible. Since getting the house in 2003, I don't think I have ever seen the waves hit our wall like they were that weekend. And, to see the Salmon River lighthouse disappear as wave after wave broke on the stone wall and went OVER the lighthouse was an incredible sight.
