DownRigger questions

I will be trolling for salmon off of 18 mile creek (Olcott) in May, how many feet of cable would I need on a down rigger 200ftor more than that? Any other tips on getting deep enough?

200' will be plenty.

In May I doubt that you'll need to be deeper than 75', which should be an easy hit with 100' of cable unless you are using 3# weights
