Lately I worry a lot about loosing a fish along with 450 feet of copper because of poor choice in connecting the backing to the copper.

I wonder what you all use and what you think about ball bearing swivels with a haywire twist covered with electric heat shrink cover.

Thank you,Cornelis.

i use a heavy swivel to connect the brain to the copper, the heavy swivel is thinner in profile and will go through the guides better. never had a problem with this connection

Swivel / Haywire twist connections last a lot longer. Not really that hard to tie. My vote is for the haywire and swivel connection. Make sure you go with the Spro heavy duty swivels.

Use a small Spro swivel between the copper and the backing and then another between the copper and leader.

Where can you get these and what does the haywire twist look like?
