Maybe this has been discussed, but I want to put out boards to cover more ground, and was wondering how to get down, say 80-100 ft, or more??

Lead, with jet divers?

What reel size??

Open for all input on this.

Thanks in advance gents!

Really Hard to achieve that kind of depth without using copper. Maybe try a torpedo diver off 7 strand wire....copper is the easiest , so that's What I would use.......good luck.

I think I am going to write my next article on this. For the sake of "sanity", no one should every have to dispense more than 400' of copper (PITA). Here is a hint. Aftco roller release, Planer line, 16 oz balls.

The answer to your question is a 450' copper setup. You can send it out on the boards (and get it away from the boat) and it will cover the depth your looking for with ease. It also offers a different presention to your existing set of divers and riggers. If you are currently running leadcore then running copper will be easy and at some point you may actually prefer to run copper over large segments of leadcore.

Thanks for all the thoughts on this.

It may turn into a copper set-up.

If I do head in that direction, what rod/reel??

Once again, thanks for the input!
