Anyone have any recommendations on a good mechanic( shop or person) who won't be looking at me with eyes gleaming of his next months mortgage being met... ..

I have a Mariner 3.5 outboard which needs some carburetor work done and shaft examination. Have not used it in a few years but did use it as a kicker on my old 19ft Starcraft, I want to use it on my 18' Starcraft now.. anywhere from Buffalo southtowns to Rochester I will travel for a good mechanic and not a rip off artist! ;( ...Thanks

I have taken 3 of my older small outboards to Olson Brothers in Derby with reasonable cost of repairs.

Langs outboards in north tonawanda is good. I just got my boat back from him. He is not real busy and could probly get you right in. For my 50 hp he charged me 200 for a carb rebuild, tune up, changed gear lube and checked out my fuel tank.
