What does this phrase mean when using leadcore ?

Just what it says basically. You'll let out all of the core and some of the backing until the knot that joins the two together is at the water. You'll also hear things like "10 colors plus four passes", meaning all 10 colors of the core plus four full passes on the level wind.

Thanks Bill, I wasnt thinking at the end of the core but the beginning. dah. What lb test leadcore is good for trout/salmon on Lake O. ? I have an 18 lb setup for walleye but that might be too light no???? BP
