Downrigger installation

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased a Cannon Mag 5 electric downrigger and have been trying to figure out how to install it on my Four Winns 183 F&S. Its a all fiberglass boat with a large transom area with no underneath access and the rails are too narrow for the base.

If anyone has any ideas please let me know

If you lift your engine hatch you still have no access to the underside anywhere? I have had to use a 24in socket extension to reach mine. Not fun but do able. I would look into a mounting system that is removable. Trackstech and Berts have great options.

Thanks, I have not looked into the engin compartment yet, will do that and see if there is any place. I looked at the track system from Cannon and if I can figure out how to install it without messing up the fiberglass then it should work good as it would be removable so I can use the boat for skiing , tubing ets
