Just a reminder that use of life jackets is mandatory until May 1st on watercraft less than 21 foot in length.

I spoke with 15 to 20 boaters (mostly perch fishermen) at the Canandaigua Marine Park on Sunday who were totally ignorant of this requirement.

Anybodys nuts to go out during the cold water months without one. They saved three lives over the weekend near Watkins according to the news last night. Said they were in the water for nearly a half hour-seems like a bit of a streach but that's what was reported.

Our gang all use the inflatable belts, don't even know you have them on.
