when running stick baits do u use any split shot or just flat line them off boards?

gotta try it both ways to find where the fish want them.... slow days vary your weights some to get the fish going ( if i remember right you get about 6 feet of drop per oz )

Hi Jbaz

When fishing shallow water i only put split on the spoons, not the stick baits. When I start running a little deeper 12 to 20 plus. I will very the size of shot to figure out how they want it. Keep in mind, longer leads will make your sticks run a little deeper even with no shot.

Opps, I forgot one thing

I do run small shot on my stickbaits when there's some grass, weeds or that white fluffy stuff you see on the surface sometimes. it just keeps the lure running clean longer, it's not perfect but it helps. just run a # 7 or so about 5-6 feet in front of your bait
