Took the boat out for the first time and steering was backwards. The boat had a new teleflex steering cable put in over winter, called guy who had boat over winter he said its not a hard fix blah blah blah...his instructions were not all that clear. So before i deal with taking it here and there to address it i was wondering if anyone new a easy way of explaining it or should i just have someone else do it. I dont mind doing it if i can.

Is the cable routed the same way it was before? If it is on the wrong side of the motor, it will be backwards. Take a pic of the cable where it goes into the outboard.

If its a rotary steering helm. Switch the input (cable) from where it is now on the helm to where the exit tube is now.

I would have to think the rack is mounted opposite of what it should be. If it was on top of the pinion and now it is on the bottom. I would not think the previous owner would have pulled the wheel to change the cable so it must not be that hard to swap it from top to bottom or vise versa. Mine attached bye four bolts.
