What is this fish

I found this in my backyard today, probably from a snake that could not swallow it. My question, What is it? About 9 inches long.

Wait a minute,it looks like my ex mother in law.They say everyone has a double.

I dunno,maybe a partially decayed Gobi or a young Bowfin??? It does look like a celiocanth but they are a saltwater fish that was supposedly extinct until one turned up a few years back.

9 inches is kind of big for any of the sculpins which are normally 3-6". Gobies may approach that length.

Looking at the spots i would say its an over grown Goby.

Thanks for the input guys, but I do not believe it to be a goby. I can not recall ever catching a goby with spines on the dorsal fin or with teeth. This really has me wondering.The nearest body of water is a beaver pond about 100 yards away and about two miles from Sodus bay.
