Just wondering if anyone has tried to add "gulp !!! " or other scented plastics on their trolling flies ,instead of real cut bait ,to make a "sushi " fly for salmon and trout . steve

I thought that was an old trick(cut bait in the fly) that The Fish Doctor, had been using for some time??

Fish Hunter....yes , using cut bait on the fly is the old trick that Fish Doctor has been using for a long time....and it is super effective . But using real, fresh or frozen , cut bait can be messy, very expensive and not always available at every port early in the morning. I was just wondering if anyone has tried any, easy to find, available everywhere , scented plastic products, like gulp,, that work for lake ontario salmon/trout , so i can use it to make " artificial" sushi flies. steve

Take the gulp off after using it. I tried gulp sections on trebles but was dissapointed to see the stuff melts plastic when it comes in contact. Some of my Capt. John King flashers have some holes in them

I did not notice any difference. Generally, I am trying to lighten my flies for a better whip/action. Now, I dip the trebles in Smelly Jelly.
