Guys

I have a reel that I use for topwater stuff (browns, steelies) that is crapping out on me, and another that I fear could be close. What does everyone here use for light rods and lighter line (14 lb) for the planers? I was thinking of going with sealine 27s, but wanted to know what everyone else uses. Thanks in advance...

I run the Diawa Sealine27.

Picked up a couple of Accudepth plus 27's and they work.

The Sealines are a much better reel for the extra $30.00.

I bought magna pros last year for my boat when I was starting out and they work great but now I'm starting to buy the Okuma convectors. Awesome reel and I think they will last longer. I been using the 2 magna pro 30's for my wire rods and they are just starting to wear out. I used the living crap out of them so I can say that the Magnas are a great reel and have a lot better price tag on them. Flat lineing they should last forever if you take good care of them. I just recommend if you plan on pulling something ever like wire, copper or lead core to upgrade and buy the convertors. I don't know much about the Diawas but hear great things about them.

I have a set of 20D convectors that I have had for at least 7yrs. They have been flawless and even handle the odd King that blasts the small stuff when fishing the surface. I have them paired with 7 1/2' ML Okuma Blue Diamond rods. Perfect for 10--15lb line and board fishing.
