Only been once for the eyes.. didnt do well at all. Its very hard to pass onieda on my way to black lake for eyes lol.

Its my understanding that they are not heavy in there any more. Great bass and pike lake though but like i said i didnt target the bass and pike.

I have not fished Black Lake in years,but use to get a lot of nice northern pike tossing Johnson Silver Minnow Spoons in the narrows at causeway.Walleye action in the spring always use to be best at the outflow below the dam on the Oswegatchie River.

just talked to a buddy of mine 1 hr ago, water is up 4 ft but he did good on the bass they just got back from there yesterday.

He has been fishing there 25 yrs and never saw the water like that,if that slow moving front over Geneseo right now moves that way its gonna add a lot of water.

If yer not familure with that lake get good charts,and be a little extra carefull .......

What Mostly Muskies said :yes::yes::yes:

The Johnson Silver minnow is deadly for the pike on Black lake, havent been up there in about 4 years. We hammered the Crappies also on Swedish Pimples.

i've only been there a few times. not hard to catch average size pike there on nickle red eyes. i'm sure the johnson minnow works too.

Fished it Friday 5/13 and Saturday 5/14. Water was way high as you can expect. Fishing was slow, but productive. Got a couple pike and one bass on shiners. Perch were biting off small minnows.

Everything else was pretty slow though.
