Tying wire???

What knots do I use? Just picked up a couple dipsys and and couple spools of 1000' 7 straind but dont know exactly what knots to use to tie to the spool or to the dipsy. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks for the link. Helped alot but still wondering how to tie it to the spool on the reel.

Some guys will attach a 50' piece of mono or braided line to the wire with an Allbright knot and then tie the mono or braid to the spool and apply a little tape over the knot.

For me, I simply tie an overhand knot to attach the wire to the spool (I use 19 strand) and then wrap a piece of electrical tape over the knot on the arbor so it wont slip. This has always worked for me.

Another tip - the first time you use the wire set-up, let out as much wire as you can with a dipsy and then reel it all back in so that it reels in nice and tight.

Thanks for all the help. First time running dipsys so I will have to see how it goes. Im sure ill have a few mistakes but hopefully not to costly
