Front Cabin Hatch

I have a 1984 Sport Craft 222 and when we get heavy rains im getting water in the cabin throught the front hatch.

Has anyone else had this problem, is there supposed to be some type of weather stripping around the opening,

Any ideas on how to fix it.

Leaks around windshields and cabin hatches become common as boats get older. You pin the issue down by taking a garden hose a spraying the outside of the boat with someone looking on the inside to determine where is is coming from. Depending on the boat, it could be leaking at the windshield and running down to the first opening through the seal around the hatch. Trial and error is the only way I know to troubleshoot it.

Sometimes the only way to remedy the hatch leak is to remove the frame and glass and completely re-bed everything.
