Ok, I need to buy a gps chartplotter, Give me some idea's, I had one guy tell me not to buy a lawrance, He said something about the towers not picking up your way points, I'm thinking he's wrong!! Every boat i look in has a lawrance in it. I had my mind set on one. Thanks fish-on!

I personally think garmin puts out a very good product. But I have never heard of lowrance having any problems like that

I think he's referring to the LORAN C system......

Stay with a GPS system and you'll be fine.................I upgraded last winter from a gray scale to color......all I can say is WOW color is much easier to see !!!

What is your budget? Start there? Be careful of imbedded maps. You are paying for data that is as old as the unit and not as detailed. Raymarine, lowrance and Hbirds but for various reasons.

I vote Lowrance ;) They stand behind their products! I have the HDS 7 and this year it would not power up. I sent it back and they sent me a brand new
