Trolling Lake Ontario

Can anybody give a first time troller some tips for Launching, rigging, lure, location, depth etc. I have a 17.5ft Aluminium Deep Hull Monarch with a 90hp Honda. I have two Big John Electric downriggers with rod holders. I was planning on Launching from the Bronte Area.

Absolutly! Find the best (and coolest) charter captain in your area, and ask him to take you out for a fishing lesson. You may not be able to remember everything but you will have the basics.

Actually great advice. Ive done several salmon trips on my own boat and have had decent success and I still plan to do a charter when I get around to it so I can lean more. Mind you I, I would need a gang to come and share the charter fees. If one does the math its cheaper in a great many scenarios than taking or buying your own boat.
