yep i and several guys use rubberbands on the finger lakes....lets use know if we a are dragging hitch hickers. we can also tighten down are releases for a solid hook up....

If you make you 4 or5 tight loops and a couple of loose ones it makes a long enough section to show the shakers on the rod with out messing with the rubberbands :yes:

I dont use them alot but i do like them for fishing shallow. They show the small fish hitchhiking well.

I used them all the time till I found Scotty pinch pad releases. They show shakers just as well as a black and band IMO

Yup, why cob up some contraption to make an inferior release work when you can just get the one that works great right out of the box. Ditch the blacks and bands and use the Scottys instead, you'll be much happier. They are easier to use and just plain old work better.
