I only have one set up of lead core with a full core. My question is dose it hurt your full core if i only say let out 3 colors and not the entire core?

no not at all. I run a ten color down the chute alot and we adjust the number of colors depending on where the bite is.

I have ten color also what is the ratio of color out to depth? I have never run this but I would like to give it a try this weekend

5' per color is general rule of thumb.

yup 4'-5' per color, depending on trolling speed.
