Back out with Bill early today at the launch 5:30 am was going to fish close so I started up kicker at the launch………Good thing , it was not pissing water so we cleaned out the hole the mud-wasp had plugged shut…it would have been a bit tough with how lumpy the water was…..out close banged a 18†Laker. Made a pass or two picked up a small Laker and a dink brown. Weeds were not too bad. Trolled north hooked up with something BIG , Bill lost it just as it was about to break to the surface…….ran back thru nothing went farther north found the weeds so we pulled up and crossed over to the west side… WET ride over………not too bad over there (weed wise) picked a land lock early on but it was too lumpy to troll back thru so worked north. Just north of Long Point found the weeds again……….pulled up and motor abet farther and they cleared out for a while then it was time to head in………………….got to the dock had boat on trailer ……….guy backs trailer in…said his buddy was dragging boat over BY HAND motor quit……..went back out and pulled boat in……got many thank yous told them to just pass it on to the next guy that needs a break……………. Picked the BIG whatever up down 49’ out over 70’ FOW ….three were done at 38’ down but the 49’ took the land lock also……………spoons long leads……..should have run some flasher/fly’s today with the deeper bite !!!!!
