Rigging up a Subtroll 900.

Can I mount the Roemers release on the coated cable

without losing any capability from the unit? or should

I mount the release on the leader below the probe?

I have never seen the roamers, but I use a blacks above the sub-troll, someplace on here Longline has a couple pics that show how to do it, it works very well. He uses the straw from WD40 as a sleeve to protect the cable.

Thanks for the info. I checked out those

photos for the Blacks. I'll have to try

that on a piece of spare wire with the

roamers.

My concern is that whether or not the

locking mechanism on the roamers

will displace the wire under the insulation

enough to effect its performance.

Still tossin' it around.

Fish On.

I have used them on my Cannon SNT probe cable with no problems just keep an eye out for nicks But I think you will be fine.

I have used Roemers for many years on both coated and bare cable with no issues. The Roemer does not appear to damage the coated cable or affect the performance of the temp probe.

We use the Rohmer release on the Subtroll coated cable without any problems.

We run the release about 12" above the probe
