How do you guys keep your main line from twisting when using spin doctors on downriggers? I run ande and big game 30lb mono on my rigger rods with blacks releases and cant seem to keep the line from twisting beyond control when I run spinnys. We usually run a 6 to 10 foot lead from the ball with them.

We use the big swivels that come on the spin doctors tied directly to the main line. Should we add another swivel?

Like bobsboy said, use another swivel. Make sure it is a QUALITY swivel. I would buy some SPRO or Sampo swivels.

Thanks for the quick responses. I thought about another swivel, but it didn't make sense to me to attach a swivel to a swivel, so we just ran the spinnys on dipsys.

I'll give it a try and will only run welded split ring swivels. We found out the hard way on cheap swivels. Had 3 big guys pull split rings last week.

By the way if any of you guys catch the grand prize derby fish out of Olcott with jewelry attached I may be able to identify it. :(

Ball bearing swivels ;) You can try and bring your spin doctors up a little slower after you release them from the rigger. The faster you reel them in the more they spin out of controll.
