Atommik fly rigging question

How to you guys rig your flys on the leader?? Do you put the head with the red twine on it facing the hooks or facing tward the flasher??

The head of your fly goes twards your atractor. The skirt from the fly should lay over your hooks and help cover them up.

I've wondered the same thing too.

I have most of my flies rigged with the red twine towards the flasher. I thought that was the correct way since they came out of the box with the skirt laying in that direction when I bought them.

I looked on A-tom-mik's website and it looks like they have them rigged with the red twine facing the hooks...and the last couple flies I bought came out of the box with the skirt laying that way too.

I now run them both ways.

Same thing for me. I have caught kings fishing them both ways. Just wondering if there made to run a certain way. Maybe Tom will help us here.

The end with the red thread goes down towards the hooks. This creates a much bigger and puffier skirt

i run the threads towards the flasher...been doing that for 5 yrs now seem to catch more fish that way...

I was just gonna ask the same question!! Seems the answer is debateable!! I can make it make sense both ways...

I run mine with threads towards the flasher but I think thread towards the hook is also a good approach ad the tinsel spreads out more.

I haven't bothered to change mind around as I have pre-tied them and it is working for me with the head towards the flasher.
