SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS

====================

basically ,it was a carbon copy weekend of july 4th weekend.browns o'plenty

and some bonus chinook skippies to boot.

sundays turkey platter size king came on a wire dipsey with a two tone green and blue spinnie dragging a very beat up lil boy blue atomik fly.

it was good to see the dipsey bounce for the first time this year.

that king didnt make it to the camera due to low memory on the card...damn wedding pics :( oh well! was about turkey platter size as mentioned above.

gave it to my neighbor who loves salmon but doesnt get out too much.

anyways' great weather,great fishng,great weekend.

the wedding was fun too!!!

Thanks for the report. Looking forward to getting out again but since I'm fishing from a Lund Alaskan I have to pick my days. Nice to see some Kings showing up and a consistent brown bite. Where is the Haystack? I saw a couple boats working off the Pill Boxes.

Kev,the haystack is about 3-4 miles south of the light house.

if u can get ahold of some NOAA charts you can actually see the structure is shaped like its name.not so much pointy ,but hump shaped sorta.

i have a 22ft fiberglass boat and i do agree it can get hairy

good luck and be careful! this season!

Hey thanks for the post and good report. Can't wait to get out with my 5 yr old and Dad. So were you trolling north/south from the lighthouse? I've heard reports out closer to Galloo also. Thanks!

Posted

Jeff,it all depends.if it s rocking out there i will make a run south(waves up there are normally from the south/southwest)turn around and follow the waves in for a smoother ride for the wifey.if its calm,i start from the north and head s/sw about 240 -270 deg, from the light house or center of the trench.

whats ur boat name?, i'll try to give u shout if u are out this wkend.

Mike,

Thanks for the information. I've been hitting the St Lawrence for walleye the last two mornings as wind has been up at the lake. I'll be out again next week when there's a calmer day. Good luck.
