I own several penn 310's I think they are the best all around reel for salmon. However, last year I purchased 2 new 310's which are now made in Japan. The clickers on both of these reels failed very shortly after placing them in use, I returned them to Penn for warranty work. They sent the reels back with new clickers installed. They both failed again. Is anyone else having this problem. I hve 20 year old 310's that just keep on going and going. Does anyone know if anyone out there is repairing /upgrading these clicker to be as good as the old ones.

I have a few 10+ year old penns... Great reels but my clickers both developed issues shortly after purchase... This is a known issue with these reels. Still a great reel though.

A good reel repair place can install Okuma clickers in those for you. Penns have a issue with there clickers. Try St. Peters in Oswego(also a site sponsor here). Tuna Tom in michigan can also do this.
