Jiggining for Browns in Canandaigua 7/30

I was using a large 5" spoon in 16' of water and caught a 4 & 1/2, 26" pike in 16' and then tried jigging the same spoon in 30-60' and landed two browns. The big one was 5 pounds weighed on a certified IGFA scale and then I landed another smaller one. Felt good to catch a beautifull brown with out any downriggers and a great fight. She came right up to the surface and jumped. I don't know why they were in shallow water except cruising looking for bait to eat. I cought all three fish around noon then it shut down.
