We were over on Canandaigua today for some outstanding fishing with some great guys from PA. We had a blast today great weather, no weeds, and no fleas. The fish were not in the normal summer spots it was like spring fishing today the surface temp was around 76 but it was only 55 deg down 35ft. What little bait we did find was in the top 30ft of water along with the active fish. We took several nice Bows up to 6lbs, one beautiful brown and some huge Lakers. We had one Laker that was just less than 16lbs and 35.5 inches long and another that was 14lbs. All of the fish were at the South end and all came from the top 50ft of water. We lost three big bows on the rigger and copper and another slob Laker first thing in the morning. Only 4 fish hit the ice the rest went back to be caught on a tournament day. Shallow core and copper did the trick it was like fall or spring fishing with the bait on top. Cranks on 100 copper were on fire for the bows, spoons on 6 and 8 color took the big Lakers.

Nice fish. I've been looking for these for years on Canandaigua! Guess I better head south in the morning!

Thanks for the info.
