Hey Matt .... not sure what port you're fishing out of, but deepwater is better than shallow..... You might consider Dunkirk or Barcelona, as opposed to Buffalo...... been reading about some decent success with copper bladed harnesses....

Matt-it was three weeks ago I was on Erie and the bite was deep for me back then. Dunkirk was a dead screen-fished Barcelona in 90-110 fow-50 to 80 feet down. Very few 2-4 pounders-most in the 7-10 lb range. Best were pumpkin harnesses with copper backs-black/purple early in the am before the sun got high.We saw a lot of marks and bait in the 70 foot range-but went over them to the deeper water. From other fishermen-they were only getting smaller fish. Small Chatterstix in perch color produced also. Lead core dominated-but slide divers/dipseys took a few. Didn't run riggers.

Fished the 3 day con club tournament. We had fish from just west of Dunkirk to

4-5 miles east. 70-80 fow. Lots of good screens. 10 color no weight was fair;

slide divers at 140-165 with a ring with chattersticks; and WD's off the 50-65 rigs.
